The charming town of Rapallo has a historic tradition, home of the Ligurian Tigullians
in pre-Roman times, and lays in the inner part of the Tigullio Gulf: this privileged
geographical position protects it from the winds and offers a mild climate making
it pleasant to admire the surrounding natural beauties all year round. It is mainly
for this reason that, since the second half of the 19th century, the town has
been chosen by famous intellectuals, artists and poets as their favorite destination.
The likes of Yeats, Ezra Pound, Nietsche, Sibelius, Kokoschka, Hemingway, have
left various traces of their stays in Rapallo. |
